Cactus Joes, access & approach. Page 73.

A wildlife fence has been constructed on the north side of Route 160. The fence blocks the direct approach to Cactus Joes from the Comedy Area parking spot. A new access method is to continue on Route 160, past Potosi Canyon Road, for around 0.5 miles (8.3 miles total from the 159/160 junction) and park on the north side of the road beside a raised dirt mound where there is a break in the fence. Go up the mound and jump down through the break. Walk back east beside the fence to a wide concrete spillway. Walk down the spillway and when the spillway ends, continue for 45 yards. The trail starts just before the second of two trees on the left where there is usually a small cairn. A faint but cairned trail now goes across the wash and winds up and east to the west end of the cliff.
